Google Search Essentials suggest you a few core best practices that will impact on your content's quality, apart from this you can do many things to improve your site’s SEO.

> Make quality content keeping users in mind and gain their trust

> Use those words that people search in google, and place those words in prominent locations on your page, like title and main heading of your page, and other descriptive locations like alt text, excerpt and link text.

NOTE: Don’t over populate those words in your content, it looks like spam to the googles crawler.
